Mr. Etzioni, a sociology professor and also founder of The Responsive Community, has written many articles and books. In one of his essay titled: Working at McDonald's, Mr. Etzioni share his viewpoint about how high school student should not be a part-time worker for fast food restaurant.
             He argued that high school student should not work for fast-food chains, and McDonald being the main restaurant where most high school students work in. Mr. Etzioni believed that McDonald is the "breeding grounds for robots". Students won't be able to use their mind and be creative. Their tasks have already been plan out, they just need to "don the prescribed uniform" and work on the task that is planned for them. He believed that fast-food chains prohibit students from being an entrepreneur; they won't learn the necessary skill to help them later in life.
             Mr. Etzioni stated that part-time job students work as long as 14 to 17 hours a week, as a result, the student won't have enough time to do school work, mainly homework. And with the fast-food restaurant "instant reward of money", students are more likely to skip school and work instead. While McDonald let high school student make quick cash, it might stray them off of their "endeavors that do not pay off instantly-above all education."
             As a college student with 16 units and a full time job, I agree with Mr. Etzioni essay. There were many time when I found myself lacking the time needed to do homework because I have to work so many hours a week. And sometime I don't want to go to school because I'm so tire from work. If a high school student works for 14 to 17 hours a week, that student won't be able to have enough to time to fully focus in school. I'm lucky because my job fits in with my class schedule. But for a high school student, they have to wake up early and go to school at 8
