Foosball has come a long way since it was invented back in the 1880's. "Foos" short for Foosball is a game that most everyone has played and can relate to. Most people know foosball as a game to play while socializing with people. Some people take foos more seriously then others. People play foos for money, people play to gain social acceptance, and most importantly, people play when they are bored. No matter what kind of player you are, we could agree that foosball is a game that utilizes a person's hand-eye coordination and almost anyone can quickly learn how to play.
             Like many other games invented in the 1800's the history is a little bit shady but we do have some basic facts. The inventor of the first foosball table was a Frenchman named Lucien Rosengard, who lived from 1880 to 1976. (the complete book of foosball chapter). Rosengard also invented parts to automobiles, some you may be familiar with... the seatbelt, and front-wheel drive. We do not know the exact date the first foosball table was made but we can conclude that it was made somewhere around the 1890's because Rosengard would be in his teenage years.
             Foos didn't gain major popularity in any country until after World War II. The first company to mass-produce a foosball table was called Kicker, which named their tables Kicker also. Very shortly after Kicker started manufacturing foosball tables the German language adopted the term Kicker for foosball, much like American's have adopted the word Xerox to make photocopies of stuff. In today's age there are many different manufactures of foosball tables.
             In the late 1960's and 1970's foosball exploded with popularity creating national and worldwide tournaments. In 1976 foosball founded its own league, the European Table Soccer Union (ETU). This League is made up of many different countries in Europe and has made foosball competition organized....
