In this essay I am going to discus Arthur Miller's ideas about public and private life. The similarities and differences between the two. Although I believe there is a big difference between the two. My feelings are yes, what happens at home stays at home nobody should know about what personal things happened or undergoing at any given time. Your public life is the life you live outside your house. When you go to school, work, or church people live different lives.
             Why should it matter if your parents are getting a divorce or your brother is in trouble. It is not information that people need to know or something that needs to be discussed amongst your friends or even strangers. In miller's eyes your private life is something you and you alone deal with, it is nobody's business if someone commits adultery as in Miller's book The Crucible John Proctor commits adultery on his wife for Abby. Nobody but Abby Elisabeth and John need to know and hoe to fix the situation.
             Public life in miller's eyes is a open book completely different form your private life for example, John in public life is a respectable man and has not done nothing he should regret and is a like he is on the city council in our terms and everyone respects his decisions. Yet it goes to show you that Miller is saying everyone has a secret and that is there business no one else's. You put on a different face and appearance for everyone around you. It is like an actor he/she is a different person in front of the camera's and media but when the lights go off it is like a whole different person they may do drugs, abuse there wives, and molest children but still it is there personal rights not to have anyone poking in their lives.
             My theses is that why don't everyone stop looking into other peoples lives and take a good hard look at their own life and see if there is something they could do to make their publ
