From the moment I stepped inside a juvenile detention center I knew my mission in life. My sole purpose is to rescue our children by offering them another outlet or that second option that they crave to salvage them from the potholes of society. With a degree in Criminal Justice along with my personal and life experience I would definitely acquire the insight on how to better relate and service our children that are wedged in the court system.
I've been around the block and back within the past year and I have yet to find what it is that I'm so desperately searching for. Just like a large percentage of new graduates I too was not sure about my future, especially, with Sallie Mae and her relatives contacting me after the six month grace period in reference to the large sum of money owed. Finally, I've finished my bachelors in psychology and now I am ready to pursue graduate study in Criminal Justice. Ultimately I will use my degree to service the juvenile population whether within the public schools, detention facility or our judicial system. It is time that someone scrutinizes beneath the surface and say "this kid is not so bad after all, just a little misunderstood".
I've always had the desire to further both my ultimate career and educational objective along the lines of law but was not aware of the particular subject area. Now that I've realize my niche in life, I refuse to waste any more time. Given the opportunity to advance my educational endeavors with John Jay College of Criminal Justice I will work diligently with our youth so that we can prevent another "Columbine Massacre".
