The Wearing of School Uniforms

School uniforms are sets of clothing created by the school and are compulsory for all students. Although there are some negatives to the idea of school uniforms, such as the loss of individuality and a lack of range and choice, but these are far outweighed by the advantages. Uniforms allow students to focus on their studies, without social distraction, competition or insult, giving a feeling of equality among the student body. They offer lesser costs, waving the family and student money. Those wearing them are also easily recognised by members of the community and faculty.
While wearing school uniforms, students are essentially equal by appearance. There is no competition between brand names, as a school logo is often nothing to be proud of. with casual clothing, opinions run rife and many insults can be slung back and forth, often turning from the uniform to student's general appearance even, in a convoluted way, to their intelligence, which detracts from self-image and self esteem. These savings are normally carried over, so the clothing is sold to students at near this price. This works well for public schools, in which many students are not as financially gifted as their private school colleagues. And so brand names are totally removed from the picture, allowing all students an equality otherwise unreachable.
If all students were to wear the same uniform, members of the community can easily identify them. This is a good thing, and it does mean a truant or lawbreaker is relatively (relative to having no identification via clothing whatsoever) easy to track down. However much this reflects on the school's image to the community, society in general benefits as another offender in crime
