Love, Life, And Literature

             The dictionary explanation of love is a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties. Love is a very versatile word. It can be used to describe a relationship with a relative, a dear friend, a sexual desire for someone, an adoration of God, or the want of an object. For this case, use it as a sexual desire for someone, for example The Passionate Shepherd to His Love and The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd.
             To me love is something created by ourselves to fill a void we have. As humans we aren't created complete, we always have a void that needs to be filled. It is always attempted to be filled with the love of money, power, people, and other tangible and intangible things. It can never be filled, it's what keeps us striving to do better all the time. Money is spent, people die, power fades, and eventually you die. The whole time you spent trying to fill your void was merely a waste. After that, no one knows.
             To most poets love is almost always related to nature. It is simple to tell they are only infatuated with their dearest since they always compare their aesthetic beauty rather than their personality. No way around aesthetics, that's why everyone has different tastes. For example, a poet could compare a woman's beauty to the crashing waves of the ocean at sunset; but a poet will rarely compare a woman's independence to a roaming cattle.
             Poets normally write in an idealistic way of thinking. Realistic would win out over idealistic because reality is always what's true. If you're dreaming that you are walking up a mountain and you're flying off the top, and in reality you just jumped off a cliff, you're obviously going to die in reality.
