Lockie Leonard is a surfer boy who lives in a small town of australia. He has a popular girlfriend and a good reputation for surfing. He's the best at it at his school. But just when everything seems to be so good, it all goes away. His girlfriend dumps him causing everytone to forget about him. And this causes him to lose skill in his surfing. He goes surfing alone one day and sees a huge wave. he goes for it. And he ends up falling real hard. But its for the better, because when he's laying on the beach, Geoff Eggleston(goes by egg)helps him. They get to know each other. Egg is different from Lockie, he has dark long hair and is into hardcore metal and what not. Lockie has short blond hair and hasn't much of a tasete for music. So as it goes, they notice that the water is being polluted by an industry nearby, making it nearly impossible to surf safely there. Egg and Locke try to get the town together to talk about it. And they fail, they try again, they fail. So they try to do it themselves. They get the few friends they have and go to work. And to make it all worse, Lockie falls in love with a girl 11, two years younger then him. And she's better than him at surfing. As it turns out, the mayor is going to have something on T.V. about it, and they work and get the mayor to have it cleaned up.
