             Mary Shelley presents a novel about romanticism. She has introduced a man by the name of Victor who has created a creature made of other humans. However, after he has seen that his creation was not what he imagined, he was terrified and fled. The creature after opening his yellow eyes he had not one person to turn to. In other words, he was left all alone in this world with not a single person to care for him or love him. He was barbaric, naive and alone. Shelley is trying to show the relationships between Victor and his creation. However in the beginning there was no strong relationship between the two, and that is why his creature leaves on his own to look for that emptiness.
             The creature slowly began to learn and understand the human behavior by observing a small family, whom he called, friends. " ...During the morning I attended the motions of the cottagers, and the remainder of the day was spent in observing my friends." (Pg. 99) The daily creature observed their every day human behaviors by spying on them in a secret place. He started to identify a relationship that they had and also wanted that in return. However, he was afraid to be seen because of how they treated him when the villagers first saw him. He was tormented which only made him afraid of himself. He began to understand that the perfect features of his friends were not like his. "I had admired the perfect forms of my cottagers-their grace, beauty, and delicate complexions; but how was I terrified when I viewed myself in a transparent pool!" (Pg. 98) This passage shows how Shelley is basically blaming Victor of a terrible job that he has created not only by saying that the creature was as well terrified by his appearance but also by saying that he was a monster.
