             A special interest group is an organized subgroup of a society. Special interest group belongs to the public sector. Some special interest groups are very powerful politically. These organizations devote large amounts of money, and time to make sure that government representatives hear their points of view. These organizations are very effective in both negative, and positive ways, and are believed to influence tens of thousands of votes each candidate. One such organization is the Sierra Club. Here, we would see, how the club effects the economy, who pays for the price of their success if they succeed, and who receives the benefit of their achievement.
             The Sierra Club is an organization, built to protect the forests, and our natural environment. They invest large amounts of money to fulfill their desires to protect the environment. This effects the economy, as more money are invested, and certain activities such as mining, and logging are stopped. Some places have stopped, selling timbers, such as the Tongass National Forest. Even, the Sierra Club have organized an effective lobby in Congress to make sure that the group's particular circumstances can be heard. They even use the public sector to their advantage. As a matter of fact, the citizens are often affected, since taxes might be raised. They have a strong influence on the government.
             Obviously, the government pays for the price of their success, if they succeed. The Sierra Club is attempting to protect the natural environment of the United States; thus, eventually, they are receiving payments from the government. The Bush administration is very much concerned about the work of this club, and have decided to spend millions to help the club, succeed in its goals.
