             culture more. For example, in America, the concept of
             freedom is deeply rooted in cultural identification. Personal and
             corporate freedom was the single most important issue over which America
             came to exist. For this reason, the American flag, the Statue of Liberty,
             and freedom of the press speech are cultural icons in America. The
             process which gave birth to America created the value on these signs or
             symbols of the culture. By evaluating the signs and symbols which are
             culturally relevant to the Lebanese, we will interpret backward and seek
             to discover more about the Lebanese culture and values.
             Generally speaking, Lebanese society was highly traditional and was
             exposed to forces of modernization in its urban centers. This overarching
             description of the Lebanese culture applies today, as it did decades and
             centuries ago. The Lebanese have been repeatedly exposed to modernizing
             forces' and many times these forces rolled into the country on horseback
             wielding arms. For this reason, the individual cultural heritage of the
             Lebanese people is something that is held in high regard. Today, some
             parts of the country are again undergoing a rapid process of modernization,
             a great influx of villagers to the cities created a "ruralizing" effect.
