             The article discusses the different ways the news is used to persuade people. From the way the camera is positioned to the editing room, the article is full of details about how each aspect comes into play. Another factor that came into play is the anchor, or host, as well as the reporters of the newscast. The role of the media in government affairs is also important.
             The news can twist and turn the public emotion on a story any way they choose. For instance if you had coverage of a story with the camera angle head on at eye level and the shot was up close, your viewers would probably feel more close or emotional towards the person on camera. Showing a close up of someone on a television screen gives you a full sized look at them and it feels like they are in the room talking to you. This is the medias purpose, to make the viewers feel a certain way.
             In addition to camera tricks editing also takes on a roll of determining the outcome of the finished product. Special affects, editing, and previously recorded material are another variable and completing a persuasive, compelling story for viewers. With today's technology anything is possible. Slowing down a previously recorded shot than focusing in on a certain item really grabs the attention of viewers because of the detailed story. Editing can be very tricky for a viewer to spot if done correctly. When the editing process occurs they can rearrange different parts of previously recorded material. This would give the media the advantage over the viewers, because more than likely, unless you were there, you don't really know the true story.
             One part that interested me the most is that people not only paid attention to the actual news story but how the newscaster portrays the story.
