The Nazi Party claimed to be socialist, and in 1927, Hitler stated,
"We are socialists" however, "â€By majority consent of both socialists and
non-socialists, National Socialism and kindred movements are not considered
to be socialist" (Neo pg). Nazi racial theories are regarded an anti-
social (Neo pg). Hitler developed his political theories by observing the
policies of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, under which he was born and was a
citizen (Neo pg). Hitler believed though, that ethnic and linguistic
diversity had weakened it and feared democracy as a destabilizing force
because it placed power in the hands of ethnic minorities and had
incentives that would further weaken and destabilize the Empire (Neo pg).
At the center of the national socialist ideology is race. The Nazi
theory states that the Aryan race is a master race that is superior to all
other races (Neo pg). National Socialism states that a nation is the
highest creation of a race, therefore, great nations are said to be the
creation of great races and great nations grow from military power (Neo
pg). And moreover, military power naturally grows from rational, civilized
cultures and these cultures naturally grow from races with natural good
health, and aggressive, intelligent, courageous traits (Neo pg). The
weakest nations are those of impure or mongrel races due to the fact that
they have divided, quarreled and thereby weakened their cultures (Neo pg).
It is from this belief that the German Nazis were so obsessed with the
unification of German-speaking peoples' territories (Neo pg). Those
nations that could not defend their borders were believed to be the
creation of weak or slave races, meaning they were thought to be less
