The most important legislation in connection with Employment discrimination
is Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VII clearly states that
employers cannot discriminate of sex, color or race and it also provides
"It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer: (a) to fail
or refuse to hire or discharge any individual, or otherwise discriminate
against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions,
or privileges of employment because of such individual's race, color,
religion, sex, or national origin." (US Code Section 2000e-3.)
