Terrorism is threatening not only the United States, being the number one target of terrorists, but the entire world as well. In almost all parts of the world, terrorism is spreading fear to people as they are scattered in different places, training how to fight wars and planning for destructions unknown to all of us.
             The 9/11 attack is considered as the start of the world's greatest concern against terrorism. Since this attack, many places all over the world had experienced the bitter consequences of terrorism. The world has been awakened to be prepared in times of such terrorism. Global strategies were developed in fight against threats to the peace of the world. Three years after the 9/11, the world is still wondering for ways on how to protect people from the terror brought by our differing ideologies. Countering terrorist attacks is undoubtedly hard and challenging for every individual who is concerned about world peace. As indicated by the 9/11 Commission Report,
             "The nation has committed enormous resources to national security and to countering terrorism. Between fiscal year 2001, the last budget adopted before 9/11, and the present fiscal year 2004, total fedral spending on defense (including expenditures on both Iraq and Afghanistan), homeland security, and international affairs rose more than 50 percent, from #354 billion to about $547 billion. The United States has not experienced such a rapid surge in national security spending since the Korean War."
             The world is indeed spending tons and tons of money just for one thing in life which, if all of us will cooperate, is so easy to achieve -- peace and unity.
