             Gomer had been intensely impacted by the ethical immorality of her society, and was a never a suitable match for Hosea. (Hosea: What's Love Got to do with it?) There were talks that she had she shared her bed with several men and she was also fast and careless. Had Hosea a choice in marriage, he definitely would not have chosen a woman of Gomer's notoriety as his soul mate. However his reason was not to think over why; his reason was just to abide by the orders of God. Under whose command he married a woman of dubious ethics, who had several lovers. This was an order from none other than the Lord Himself, and Hosea was left with no other choice than abiding by the orders. If this were the orders from the Lord Himself, and Hosea had no other option, it has to be, no matter how painstaking it might be and it was of course very painful. (Sermon on Hosea 1:2)
             Although Hosea loved his wife, Gomer, from the bottom of his heart, she was not loyal to him. Gomer made her love life into a drama. She gave in to other men. She surely became famous as an unfaithful woman. (Sermon on Hosea 1:2) Hosea became doubtful of her disloyalty towards him. His suspicion became true when Gomer became pregnant by a different man. During this period, her illicit relationships with other men were known to everybody. Hosea left no stone unturned to save his marriage. He reasoned with his wife and also went to the extreme to disown her. (Hosea: What's Love Got to do with it?) Ultimately, she deserted him and their kids and followed other men who gave her presents.              In Chapter two on the book on Hosea, we come across the words of Hosea's anger. "Indict her. Indict your mothers. She is no more my wife and I am no more her husband". (Hosea 3:1-5 Set Apart By God's Love) Since Gomer deceived Hosea [his words] were justified. As the relationship between Gomer and Hosea ha...
