             Sociological and Biological Explanations
             In order to resolve the issues associated with childhood obesity we must first attempt to discover the factors that are responsible for these trends. There are some that claim the trend is not a result of social conditions and changes, but rather the result of changes in the environment and due to genetic changes. However, these theories do not seem plausible because changes in the gene pool typically do not happen this quickly. Sociological factors are more likely to blame for the recent trends.
             If one considers the world as a whole, there have been many changes in society. Technology allows us the ability to do many things from stationary position that used to take physical labor. We are able to complete our work much more effectively and efficiently than in the past.
