However when this tool is missing, a person can become oppressed and instead of seeking justice would go on suffering and enduring injustice. This is the main connection between lack of education and violence. But has the Middle East been the only place when subjugation of women persists or is even considered just? Probably not. In the eighteenth century, some western thinkers also advocated subjugation of women.
