             According to Rhode, there are three basic reasons for why this gross inequality exists. First, there is the fact that women are still held to a double-standard in terms of what their behavior is and can be in the workplace. In other words, women's behavior in the workplace is judged more severely than their male colleagues. Second, there is the lack of mentors and or support groups for women in professional leadership roles, especially as compared to those which men have access to and thus allowing for them to have more success in these leadership roles. Third and finally, there is the inflexible structure of the typical workplace, failing to accommodate the unique, or different, needs of women, such as the need to spend time with their families.
