g power comes with significant responsibilities – that rather than seeing power as a kind of crushing, benevolent/malevolent, militaristic form of interaction between people, it should be redefined in the more feminine model of power – as the building up of those around us, of the demonstration of good will and interest in others, in the increasing of work performance and satisfaction by allowing people to actually have a voice in the process. While collaborative group effort is not universally usable, understanding that power can be wielded with inclusion, mentoring, and support just as easily as it can be with a stick and a carrot, the authors strive to recreate the foundation upon which a "feminization" of the world's power structures could be realized.
             The second section of the book, "Paths of Power", the essays build upon the foundation established in the first section and act as a map on how to achieve power. The subjects, ranging from risk-taking, to building trust, the definition of the self, building power through integrity, and wielding growing power by instructing others in its acquisition and use along the same lines. The overall tone in this middle section is to tell the reader that power has many different faces, and that by embodying the feminine strengths, it is possible to demonstrate not only in work but in life in general, a superior method to getting ahead without stepping on anyone in the process.
             The final section, "A New Power in the World", consists of essays written for women already in power positions, or for those nearing that state.
