gressive behavior with their peers, indecent exposure, and persistent lack of cooperation (Toppo, 2003). Young children are becoming increasingly aggressive and uncontrollable, and this has caused concern among adults.
             The children of today have been experiencing a different kind of world. Urban youth who live in low-income, high crime neighborhoods are particularly at risk for aggressive behavior because of the increased exposure to violence (McMahon, Washburn, Felix, Yakin, and Childrey, 2000). Several social and community stressors tend to make children act out through aggression. Media such as television is one of the most influential tools to children. Children spend a significant amount of time watching television. Because 70% of what children watch contain physical aggression with 14 violent acts displayed every hour, very young children are sure to be influenced. It has been reported that media contributes to aggressive behavior by these children and are associated with negative outcomes such as desensitization to real violence or problematic parental and peer relationships. Children may even experience violence in their own homes. It has been found that children who have suffered maltreatment and abuse have higher rates of socioemotional and behavioral problems, and cognitive and scholastic deficits (Reynolds and Robertson, 2003). Consequently, early school failure may be brought about by the following risk factors: cognitive deficits, early behavior problems, parental psychological problems, problematic parenting practices, and difficulties with peers and teachers (Goodwin, Pacey, and Grace, 20003).
             There is growing evidence that early intervention by schools to correct maladaptive behavior may result from decreased violent behavior as these children grow older.
