Those that would seek to resort to violence, and in a few circumstances do that, eschew bloodshed for a handshake and by resorting to diplomacy. Indeed, the political infighting for short term personal goals, without any vision for the future of the country is representative of the turmoil that has many Latin American countries have undergone. Consider the exploits of Pablo Escobar, the head of the Cali cocaine cartel in Colombia, which divided the country into law enforcers and law breakers. Or the socialist policies of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, which will surely send the country into ruin.
             As for the physical geography of the place, Ilhi¿½us stands as the last frontier or a point of transition between the civilization of Bahia and the untapped, wild rainforests.
