Studies show that greenhouse gases that flow into the atmosphere and oceans at an unprecedented rate lead to larger climatic events like the rising of sea levels and other marked ecological changes.              Scientists believe that global warming could spur more heat waves, droughts, floods, more powerful storms and swamp coastal areas. These cause the melting of ice sheets in Antarctica and the Greenland. In looking at the optimistic side, the greenhouse effect helps to regulate the temperature of our planet.
