             Were I to have to use Freud's theories to assist with an individual in an organization, it would likely be an individual who was somewhat dysfunctional.i¿½ With Freudian techniques, one is likely dealing with severe anxiety, fear and pain.i¿½ These kinds of techniques would be good with the worker who is acting out, especially in an immature or violent way.i¿½ Instead of working from my own fear or anger, I would remember that the stress of the work environment may have pushed the individual into an earlier coping state, and therefore I must deal with them with that in mind.i¿½ I can easily ascribe this method of behavioral management to my own life.i¿½ With two teenaged sons, I often see them vacillate between acting as young children or acting as young men, depending on the situation.i¿½ If I am able to deal with them appropriately based on the level of development or consciousness they currently exhibit, I will be a more patient and effective parent.i¿½
             A disciple of Freud, Carl Jungi¿½s theories of personality also refer to a collective unconscious mind, but Jung goes on to separate the human personality into three distinct parts i¿½ the ego (the conscious mind), the personal unconscious (which can become conscious later) and the collective unconscious (that which we are born knowing but are never fully conscious of).
