By discussing gender stereotypes before and after the movement, one can conclude that the women's right movement caused a change in women's roles, and therefore, in their stereotypes.
             Just as women must struggle with gender stereotypes today, so to did gender stereotypes apply to women before their rights movement in the United States. According to the Women's International Center, traditional female gender stereotypes have generalized women as "intellectually inferior to men," as well as sexually tempting. These views were gleaned from Greek mythology, early Christian theories, and Hindu practices. Another view of women that prevailed even further into history was the stereotype of women as "the weaker sex," solidified in the traditional gender role of the wife and the mother.
