             Inventor and pioneer, Athan Gibbs, developed the TruVote machine. The TruVote machine would print a "receipt" of the vote cast, thus eliminating any questions about the vote cast by the voter. The receipt would be placed in a ballot box, ensuring a backup to the electronic ballot. This would prove useful in the event of a close race. As an accountant, Mr. Gibbs believed that this receipt would be a good auditing practice. Robert Clement, James Cooper and Cynthia McKinney believed in the necessity of this auditing system.
