             development of the main players of the film, Tristan and Isolde.
             Tristan losing both of his parents when his dad calls a meeting of
             tribes which include the English, Celts, Saxons, and Jutes to Castle
             Tantallon where they are to sign a treaty to unite the tribes to fight
             against Ireland to remain independent. The Irish attack making Tristan an
             orphan and Lord Marke and his sister raise him. Upon rebuilding, Tristan
             grows, becomes a great knight, and is loyal to Marke fighting bravely
             against the Irish when they cross into Cornwall. Tristan is wounded in
             battle when he defeats Morholt but not before Morholt strikes him with the
             tip of his sword that is laced with poison. Assumed to be dead and given
             the King's burial, which means he is set to sea in a boat that is set on
             fire, Tristan sails away and arrives to the shore of Ireland and is found
             In Ireland Princess Isolde loses her mom to fever and is grief
             stricken by this. She is cared for by her handmaiden Bronwyn and when she
             grows older she is betroth to Morholt and grief stricken by this. One day
             she set out, before Morholt returns and she has to marry, along with
             Bronwyn and come upon Tristan's boat; Isolde nurses him back to health
             hiding him in a secluded cave on the beach. Over the course of her caring
             for him she tells him her name is Bronwyn and they fall in love and make
             love, which dispels the myth that no one in the middle ages had sex outside
             of marriage. Morholt's sword is found by a peasant and taken to King
             Donnchadh and he starts a search for his killer, but not before Isolde
             warns Tristan and he flees back to Cornwall. Donnchadh hatches a plan to
             keep the English tribes apart by using a tournament and putting is daughter
             and a dowry up as a prize to the winner; and all tribes accept his
