Marx puts into perspective that we forget how much of a role the previous or current society has on the educators. We perceive these things that are available for people to view and hear as being either beneficial or detrimental to our society. But we never stop to see if these lyrics that artists like Eminem write up, are actually reflecting what's already going on in our society today. Eminem understands this concept of blindness and uses his music to let his voice be heard.
             Eminem has always been under fire when it comes to his lyrical content and the messages he portrays through his music. There's no doubt that his lyrics are very controversial and quite graphic, but then again we forget to look at why he's saying these things in the first place and . If anything, he is only exploiting the already corrupted society, not trying to corrupt it more. However, close-minded critics of his music never see it as so. From all of the incessant harsh criticism, Eminem releases songs that rebuttal the disapproval of his music. In one song titled, "Bad Influence," he comments on the fact that people say he is influencing society to be the way it is becoming, but really he's just following what society is already like. In the chorus of "Bad Influence," Eminem states, "People say that I'm a bad influence. I say the world's already fucked, I'm just adding to it" (Eminem).
