             Yet another story of a leadership is associated with the rock that Moses strikes to find water. The people complain that there is no water to drink. Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff; water came out abundantly, and the people and their livestock drank (Gorringe, 1997). Even though Moses supplied the people with water he still was punished by God because told him to talk to the rock instead of strike the rock so he was not allowed to take the people into the "Promise Land". This was one of the times that Moses had to question his leadership abilities.
             I also remember when God told Moses to "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." He reached out his hand and caught the snake and it became a rod in his hand. God wanted the people to know that the lord was God of their fathers, and the God of Abraham. Another time when his leadership qualities where shown was when he and Aaron went to the mountain and the signs from God was given to them. They were told to gather together all the elders of the children of Israel, to worship with them and look at their afflictions. Moses along with his brother Arron was the ones who were told by God to lead the people out of Egypt. They both had to go because Moses was not a good speaker.
