My Philosophy of Coaching

these reasons, I have always considered sports to be played for fun.
             When I look at myself in the future, as possibly a basketball coach somewhere, I look forward to teaching young people about the game. I want to instill in my players how fun the sport can be and how they can benefit from the game. I also feel challenged to be a coach because I know of the hard work that goes into being a good basketball coach. There are many aspects of coaching that many people outside of the sport, as well as outside of the particular program, do not realize. A good coach has to know much more than just sports. A coach also has to know about young people and how to communicate properly with them. Coaches have many more responsibilities than just conducting practices and calling out plays. They have to be good with people, especially the younger people that they are coaching. Coaches have to deal with many other people as well. Some of the important people that coaches must have a good relationship with are athletic directors and officials.
             When I think of my philosophy when it comes to discipline on my team, I believe it is important to consider the problem before handing out any drastic punishments. There are so many different circumstances in sports in which problems can arise from. It is important to see where the problem came from because then a punishment can be better selected.
