             of silence in an organization? What implications does good communication
             have on the performance of an organization? How can people improve their
             cross-cultural communication without affecting the performance of the
             organization? These are some of the few questions that this paper seeks to
             answer with a case study of Fukushima nuclear catastrophe in Japan. The
             paper shall also explore the preceding communication events in both
             government agencies and the private sector.
             The disaster and Daiichi nuclear plant occurred in March 11, 2011.
             The commission charged by the responsibility of investigating the causes of
             the disaster concluded that the disaster was foreseeable prior to March 11
             2011, and thus would have been avoided. The same sentiments were echoed by
