This subgroup of the population has also been recorded to fall victim to depression, perhaps related to reasons of reduced mental clarity and a large number commit suicide due to both the physiological effects and economic losses of buying and using pesticides. Not only have these pesticides been proven to wreck havoc on adults, they also pose a significant risk to both born and unborn babies. There are a higher percentage of abortions, still-borns, neonatal deaths and congenital defects. The babies that are born from a father who works with pesticides sometimes face extraordinary hardships through the birth defects that they experience as a result to being exposed to harsh chemicals in-vitro. Some of these birth defects consist of a cleft palette, limb deformities and mental disabilities. Pesticides not only harm the people that use them, they also mutate the physiological makeup of unborn individuals, sometimes claiming their lives. These pesticides create a very disproportionate inequality that lasts for generations onward and results due to a pre-existing inequality where the parents of these children were forced to use pesticides in order to upkeep their farms in order to provide for their family in the first place.
