Other water sources include the Mississagi, Spanish, French, Magnetawan, Muskoka, Severn and Nottawasaga rivers. Georgian Bay contains white limestone cliffs in the west shore and the east shore is cut into the hard edge of the Canadian Shield which is fractured into myriad bays, inlets and sounds. There are also thousands of islands strewn along the coasts. Most of these islands are found along the east side of the bay and are collectively known as the "Thirty Thousand Islands". This includes the larger Parry Island, Manitoulin Island, lying along the northern side of the bay. Manitoulin Island is the known as the world's largest freshwater island. On the inner, southwest curve of Nottawasaga Bay are numerous sandy beaches, the longest of which is Wasaga Beach which a popular tourist area.
