There is a coordinator in place for this year's VBS, but was not able to in attend. Ms. East announced she was going to discuss the agenda and we were welcome to take notes with the pen and paper provided. She did have one flyer available that was passed around that expanded on this year's theme. It read as follows "DON'T MISS THE BUS! Climb aboard the Vatican Express! Meet your tour guide, a member of the Swiss Guard and uncover the Vatican treasures. First stop...St. Peter's Square! Explore St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. Get to know St. Peter and find out how the Church started. Meet St. Jerome and his friend, Lion. Fasten your seat belts for the ride of your life! All aboard the Vatican Express!"
             The first order of business was going to be arranging the teaching methods and placement. Ms. East informed the group that in addition to the teachers and volunteers already in place, there would be approximately 25 high school and middle school student volunteers to incorporate into the teaching program as well. These students are usually members of the parish and attend Bishop T.J. McGregor, which is the Catholic supported upper school. Students that attend this school are required to obtain a certain about of community service hours for graduation and use VBS to fulfill that requirement. We discussed how the children were going to be divided up by age and grade level followed by which teachers were best suited where. Suggestions were made that the teenage volunteers would be helpful with being team leaders of each age group, station helpers with arts and crafts, helping with the decorations, and participating in skits and playing games.
