With the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on their side, corporations were able to exploit people with ease; dispose chemicals into the environment, own land, and engage in agreements with corrupt countries. Of course, as Robert Monks points out, "a corporation is an
             artificial legal structure without the presence of a physical being..." and thus a corporation does not have responsibilities. The reality is that corporations commit crimes, and cannot get punished for them. Instead, they are fined millions of dollars- a grain of sand out to their corporate wealth. The outcome is that corporations keep repeating the same crimes that they have been past been charged over and over again. Perhaps the most well-illustrated example lies with Monsanto, a large biotech company.
             As seen in The Corporation, a documentary focused upon educating people about the evils of modern day corporations, Monsanto deployed the use of Agent Orange, a chemical used to flush out the thick jungles during the Vietnam War. Monsanto claims that Agent Orange does not have any repercussions, that it was safe. However, after the war, several US soldiers exposed to it developed cancer, severe tumours, and a dozen other types of skin diseases in the coming years.
