h Suburban Hospital, where a rape examination was performed. Her underwear were said to have a seminal stain, which actually consisted of both seminal and vaginal fluid. The stain extended 11 inches up the back of the garment to the waistband. The medical examiner also found several hairs in her pubic area,and a vaginal swab was performed and preserved as evidence. Doctors in the emergency room found the marks on her stomach were self inflicted scratches appearing in a crosshatched pattern,which could have been intended to spell love and hate, but the letters were not legible enough to read.
             Three days later, the police requested that Cathleen Crowell's parents take her to the Homewood police station, where she worked with a sketch artist to make a drawing of the men who allegedly attacked her. She described him as a young white man with shoulder-length hair and no facial hair. Days later, police showed her a mug book where she identified Gary Dotson. According to her, police pressured her based on the resemblance of his mug shot to the sketch from the artist. Dotson had no sign of scratches that Cathleen claimed she inflicted, nor was he clean shaven, he had a thick long mustache at the time which was impossible to grow that quickly within those five days of the attack. Although police denied the allegations of pressuring her into choosing Dotson, based on the resemblance, he was arrested the next morning at his Country Hills home, and put in a police line- up where she positively identified him.
             At Dotson's trial in 1979, two witnesses were presented by the prosecution. One was Cathleen Crowell the alleged victim and the second was Timothy Dixo
