is statement, I am not talking about the upper class white folks who money and power is not a problem; I'm talking about the middle to lower class family who don't have the best opportunities to succeed. I believe everyone should be held accountable to reach the same requirements as everyone else and universities should accept students based on how well they met the requirements. To me if they meet the requirements and do them well they should be rewarded and given the opportunity to succeed. If someone wants to learn, what does it matter what race they are? Why should someone who has worse grades and test scores than other students and whose parents make more than other students be offered a scholarship or even admission to a school over someone else simply because they are a particular race? Why is the emphasis on race and not on intellectualism?

It is rare that I am disappointed in university, as I do see the great benefits they do bring to the world, but this is one of those times. And I know it isn't just one particular University–it is EVERY public institution of education in the country. And that disheartens me, kids dreams, more important the nations drams are taken away from students because of their race. We should be rewarding people on the basis of who works hard and excels. University should want students who will improve their academics. As the soul purpose of attending a university is to obtain an education and degree. Though I understand scholarships and how privet scholarships work but those are private scholarships.
