The Importance of Reiki

             Its name stems from the fusion of two Japanese phrases: "Rei", meaning "universal soul", and "Ki", meaning "life energy". Today, we know this bewildering practice simply as "Reiki". This technique of spiritual healing is mainly meant to ease away the pain involved with everyday stress and physical suffering; however, it has been known to treat a broad spectrum of physical and physiological issues. A Buddhist priest discovered this practice of body and mind unity in the early 1900's, before making its way westward during the remaining years of the century. Presently, this practice can be found worldwide, and is carried out by both trained professionals, and everyday people who seek its immense pleasures. In essence, the spiritual healing technique known as Reiki is an enormous aid in stress reduction and relaxation; both of which stimulate the mind and body's ability to heal while improving one's overall well-being.
             It is important to know that the mind-body benefits from this practice come hand-in-hand, and that one may not improve their physical health a without certain psychological practices. In other words, the "Ki", or good energy that flows throughout the mind and body rather than the physical state of one's biological structure activates the source of health. The flow of positive energy throughout the body is vital to the success or failure of this practice, and the amount of such a positive force is solely directed by the mind and weather someone's thoughts and feelings are positive. Therefore, the qualities of one's thoughts are directly correlated to the mental and physical success of Reiki.
