For the past decade, Brazil has proven to be a great potential country for many markets. One attribute to this is the location of Brazil and the demographics of the country. Economic development has been prevalent within the country making it more appealing to outsiders looking for opportunities to do business in Brazil.              Brazil's demographics consist of many elements. It is the biggest country in Latin America, its capital city is Brasilia and the largest city is São Paulo. The country has a population of 196.6 million (Brazil profile, 2012). The main language is Portuguese and the major religion is Christianity. The denominations include Roman Catholic, making up a majority with 73.6 percent followed by Protestant 15.4 percent, Spiritualist 1.3 percent, and other small denominations making up about eight percent (CIA, 2013).
             Cultural aspects also make up Brazil. The immediate family is viewed very important as well as extended family being included close to family ties. However, along with many countries in the world who have seen changes in the family structure throughout the years, the structure of the Brazilian family has seen major changes over the past few decades through the decrease in average family size and an increase in single-parent, dual-worker and remarried families (Canada, 2011). Men acting as the figurehead of the household has declined, and women have become more independent. "The gender gap in terms of economic opportunity seems to be narrowing" (Transformation Index 2012). Women are becoming more prominent figures such as Dilma Rousseff, the first woman to be elected as Brazil's president.
