The first ingredient to a Puerto Rican recipe is the Taino Indian, then goes in the European, mostly from Spain, and finally added to this melting pot are the black people. The black people were the slaves that were brought from Africa to work in the mines and on the sugar-cane plantations.
             Puerto Rico floats on the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. It's geographical location is the Caribbean. The island is between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, and east of the Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico's map reference and area measurements according to the CIA's fact book is Central America and the Caribbean, the island is 9,104 sq km (3,508 sq mi). The terrain is mostly mountains, with coastal plain belt in the north; mountains precipitous to sea on the west coast; and sandy beaches lay along most of the coastal areas (www.cia.gov).
