Finding a Place to Belong

             A family of four comes from the city to see the beach for the first time. Knowing other families have been to the same place, all that has been described seems surreal to the beginner travelers. The family of four has discussed many times where they should call their final destination, but cannot agree on what would suit all of their desires. They finally decide that they would discuss their destination on the lengthy road trip ahead. As the discussions are entered into, all they can envision is the old postcards they held onto as a reminder of the beauty that lie ahead. Their "compatriots" speak of the beach as if were a sanctuary for all to visit (Percy 592). As pessimistic as the family is, they sit and think in doubt about the beauty that is waiting for them on the other side of the United States.
             The family drives through places they had only heard of through history classes. During their travels they are consumed by the surroundings as well as have discussions on the area's rich history. As they soon realize there is more to their country than they had ever imagined. Now what are they to do? Visit here or go on to their original destination? It does not take long before the questions are answered, as they are motivated by the postcards they saved for this very reason. On they pressed.
             As the family gets closer to the beach they see the changes in the surrounding area that lets them know they are getting closer. As the feelings of "restiveness" consume them, they are beginning to feel overwhelmed by anxiety (Percy 592). Finally, they arrived.
             White sands and emerald coasts were just as they imagined. The family could compare the sands to snow and the water to jewelry.
