Another aspect of Stanislavski's work has to do with inner truth, which deals with the internal world of the character, i.e. their thoughts and emotions. The early parts of Stanislavski's research took place while he was also directing the major dramas of Anton Chekhov. Plays like The Seagull and The Cherry Orchard had little to do with external action or what the characters say, more so about the characters feelings and thoughts. However this was very rarely shown through the spoken word. It becomes apparent that Stanislavski's approach would be very beneficial in realizing the inner life of such characters.
