All of my life as a Christian I have been truly scared to read the book of Revelation, but I must admit that I now have a new profound outlook on the book. Revelation is a book of hope for God's people. It is also about the future and about the present as well. For it offers future hope to all believers, particularly those who have suffered for their faith, by proclaiming Christ final triumph over evil and the truth of eternal life with Him. The book also gives present direction as it teaches us about Jesus Christ and how we should live for Him now. In reading Revelation one gets explicit accounts that we can learn from such as 1) Jesus Christ is coming again, 2) evil will be judged and 3) the dead will be raised for judgment, resulting in eternal life or eternal destruction. John, the apostle and eyewitness of Jesus, proclaims that our triumphant Lord will surely return to vindicate the righteous and judge the wicked. One must also look that the fact that Revelation is also a book of warning. Things are not as they should be in the church at that time and even now, so Jesus Christ calls them to commit them to live in virtue. This book is presented in two parts the first being the letters to the churches steaming from chapters 1-3. The second portion of the book is the message for the church. Revelation appears to have about five themes 1) God's sovereignty, 2) Christ return, 3) God's faithful people, 4) Judgment, and 5) Hope.
             Looking deeply into the letters to the churches John's vision opens with instructions for him to write to seven churches. John both commends the churches for their strengths and warns them about their flaws. Each letter written was directed to a church then in existence, but also represents conditions in the church throughout history.
