What in Hildegard's life prepared her for her life as a monastic and spiritual advisor? The first impact of her life was when her father decided to send her to the monastery at Mt. St. Disibode to be educated. This is where everything started. We see that she had very few friends and very limited to what she can do. She was a full time "church girl" and was confined to only speak to few. This is her visions would begin and influence the rest of her life. When Jutta passed away, Hildegard was the successor and became the head of the female community at the monastery. The major change was when she had a vision of God that gave her the ability to understand the meaning of the holy text. She would then decide to write these visions in a set of books for everyone to divulge with greatness and following the words of God. In 1411, she was called upon to create the book of Scivias. It is because of this that she was able to understand the visions that she had been receiving which would take her ten years to write this masterpiece. Many people have high admirations for her due to her bravery on presenting these visions that she had. Others say that it was her migraine headaches that produced this vision that she saw. Because of all life events that she has forgone, this has made her into a leader in the world of religion. She has been asked by numerous for advice and counseling and even asked for medical advice. She is a very unique nun who probably believed in peace and prosperity for all.
