CIRQUE DU SOLEIL:WHAT MESSAGE WAS PORTRAYED AND HOW
             Cirque Du Soleil is known for their celebration of color, light, music, and costumes so there is a lot going on during the movie. There is not very much verbal communication and yet there is a whole story to be told about the creation of the universe and the journey of man.
             In the beginning of the movie there is a flash of light that symbolizes the creation of the universe. The universe than fades into a drum, which becomes a huge epic scene of men pounding on drums, combined with fire, fog, and water. The drumbeat is so awesome it is the most powerful moment in the movie. Just the way the people hold their posture, and how all of them play only one part of such a mass environment, really shows you that something is being created. Then suddenly a kid with a plain white outfit appears then disappears into some water, a universal child has been created which goes on to the next scene.
             It begins under water with some fish and a sort of floral music that is proceeded by people doing a sort of poetic underwater dance. I believe this whole scene represents the child being born. It achieves this with the way the people move and the posture they use. A child is than thrust out into the world which happens to be a very creative forest.
             The next part represents childhood, and it does this with, imaginary friends, a background of a forest, which represents exploration, wild creatures, and the first experience of fear, courage, and wonder. The way the imaginary friends and the child dance around and play strongly shows you how a childhood is.
             The next part is adolescence, which is in an amazing southern Utah like environment. It begins with a man spinning a cube around him, which would take a lot of faith in yourself and what you are doing. I believe this represents that in adolescence you begin to obtain faith. The child leaping off a cliff represents this.
