             The second essay authored by Hugh Heclo addresses G.W's psyche; as much as one can looking from the outside in through an opaque window. "The purpose," of this essay, "is to try to better understand the distinguishing character and guiding beliefs behind George W. Bush's approach to politics. This is what I am calling his "political ethos." Accomplishing what he set out to do, Helco concludes that G.W's family ethos has shaped him as a competitive and focused individual ready to follow through with his decisions. Bush's tailored upbringing and tailored environment have created an ideal political leader who had gained the experience necessary to get to the oval office, unfortunately the author does not find the president to have enough experience in the role of leader. The author discusses Bush's ethos by discussing four general themes: 1) the ethic of responsibility associated with his family. 2) His apprenticeship in modern politics. 3) Bush's strategy of decision-making. 4) His growth in personal and political self-discipline.
