             I have not read Wuthering Heights for awhile but maybe you could tak about the correlation between the main owmen in th estory and how they struggle to get by but are able to become individuals. Hope this helps.
             The upper class citizens are the ones born with a title (Barnacles, Stilstockings Dickens) the middle class get their money through business investment and the working class are the one in french paintings, who want something to do on sunday their only day off. Gaskell's novel Mary Barton was frowned upon by the Stilstockings and Barnacles because they were not portrayed like civilized or as together as they want to lie about being (See Thackeray's gentleman description). The pity is for Barton in the novel, from Gaskell a gentlewoman.
