This was an increase of about two hundred and sixty percent on the figures for the same programme in 1933. While in the Hitler Youth, participants would lead a life very similar to that of the wandervogel, the support base of German folk communities for the Nazis during the 'Golden Stressmann Era,' camping in tents and singing songs around the campfire while learning about the virtues of their predecessors and the Füher. These camps also served as a way to train young boys so they could serve in the army later in life and as a training system for the subordinate role of womanhood. These practices ensured the future of the Third Reich and also the ideals which the Nazis stood for.
The third relevant point about the Nazi domestic policy is the way in which they were able to create a rapid drop in unemployment figures in a short period. A great number of factors contributed to this. Firstly, in 1935, conscription was reintroduced into Germany.
