ows that Huck Finn has decided to defy what society has told him is the correct action to take. When societal interaction is examined, all of the societal influences must be taken into consideration. Take for example the interactions with one's friends. When Huck states this quote in the novel it had already been established that Huck and Jim were friends. In examination of Huck's friendship with Tom, it shows that friends stick together and help each other. In a sense, Huck is faced with an internal conflict that has been established not by nature, but from prior experiences in his life. Therefore this situation actually proves that society has influenced Huck to make the decision to help free Jim.
