             this, it has been shown that only the five murders mentioned earlier had the same signature or
             modus operandi, the same type of victim, each of whom were connected to each other.
             These crimes were never solved, and have continued to gain notoriety, and almost become
             legendary as the years go by. As a result, one is forced almost to study speculation. Thus, this is
             the beginnings of one version of the story of what is easily the most notorious criminal in history:
             Jack the Ripper's signature was to slit the throat. He did this in one solid, quick motion
             from left to right. There was abdominal mutilation to all victims with the exception of Elizabeth
             Stride. Some victims also suffered facial mutilations.
             Prince Albert Edward Victor, the Duke of Clarence and Avondale, made frequent trips
             into Whitechapel to study art under the painter Walter Sickert. While there, he assumed the alias
             "Albert Sickert", brother of Walter, in an attempt to remain anonymous. In 1884, he met and
             married a Catholic shop owner named Annie Elizabeth Crook, who went on to bear him a
             daughter. When the rumours of Prince Eddy's indiscretions finally reached Queen Victoria, and
             the Marquess of Salisbury heard of this affair, they came to an ultimate decision that the affair
             must be kept quiet, as it may cause a revolt against the monarchy. Walter Sickert, Annie
             Elizabeth Crook, Prince Eddy and Mary Kelly were the only people who knew of the union and
             child, and in the beginning no one but Sickert knew "Albert"'s true identity.
             In 1888, Lord Salisbury staged a riot on Cleveland Street, in which trained men acting as though
             they may belong to the lower class, began a street brawl. While this was happening, three
