Therefore, the truth for Durkheim does not reside in the content of any one religion. Truth is hidden so that, "we must know how to reach beneath the symbol to grasp the reality it represents and that gives the symbol its true meaning."(pg 2) He is trying to find objective truth through the analysis of religion and society.
